My story

Everything started when my partner Stefan and I booked a golf trip. But I didn’t have anything to wear! All I had were some washed-out polo shirts and an old skirt (way too short).

What if there were a beautiful dress that was comfortable, functional and feminine? I started scouring the Internet but didn’t find anything like what I was looking for. I searched in The United States, in Germany, well, in the whole world. But I didn’t find anything that could hide a belly and that had pockets for a ball and peg.

I then decided to design a dress myself. But how should it look like? Which fabric should I use? I consulted Google and found a textile fabric in Sweden that I contacted.

They sent me some testers and among these were a fabric called Tencel. I read everything I could find about this fabric and about its production process. I decided to manufacture the dress in Tencel and found a factory in Portugal that seemed perfect for the job. Many test dresses later Nicojoli had become a honed product which I'm very proud of.

And the name NICOJOLI? Where on Earth does that originate from? Well, my partner Stefan and I have children from previous marriages. When we travelled to Florida with all 7 kids, including two foster kids, they came up with a family name that we started using since people thought that all of the kids were ours. So we became NICOJOLI = Nilsson, Cooper, Jonsson and Lindeberg.
